The challenge:
Luceco entered 2024 with a clear ambition to expand its role in the energy transition market while integrating two recent acquisitions, D-Line and CMD. The task was to reaffirm the Group’s long-term strategy, explain its updated structure and highlight refreshed opportunities for growth. With no in-house communications team, the annual report needed to serve as a multi-functional tool that gave investors transparency and reassurance in a challenging macroeconomic climate, while also communicating effectively with wider stakeholders.
Simultaneously, lyonsbennett was commissioned to refresh Luceco’s website in parallel with the report, ensuring both channels worked cohesively to project a confident, forward-looking identity.
Our approach:
We designed the 2024 annual report to be strategic, accessible and engaging, guiding readers on a clear journey from purpose to performance. Luceco’s purpose of helping people harness power sustainably in everyday life was placed at the centre and connected directly to culture, strategy and the investment case.
To help shareholders navigate the Group’s growth story, the opening feature pages introduced Luceco’s segments and brands with bold design, impactful imagery and a timeline of progress. Case studies brought the growth strategy to life, showing how the new acquisitions strengthen and diversify the Group while also spotlighting innovation in emerging areas such as home energy management and commercial EV charging.
We balanced visual flair with clarity, using clear signposting, embedded links and concise dashboards that worked across digital and print formats. New elements including an ‘acquisition criteria’ feature, sustainability traffic light summaries and a ‘Remuneration at a glance’ section enhanced accessibility, transparency and investor confidence.
Governance disclosures were streamlined, supported by director imagery to humanise leadership and reinforce accountability. A glowing graphic device, carried across both the report and website, provided a subtle but optimistic design cue that was bold, clear and quietly confident.
The outcome:
The 2024 annual report reintroduced Luceco as a confident, purpose-led group, achieving its objectives to explain the updated structure and reinforce its equity story. The report has since become a practical tool across the business, actively supporting investor presentations and sales conversations.
Feedback has been consistently positive, with Peel Hunt highlighting the connectivity, transparency and accessibility of the report. Together, the report and refreshed website have reinforced Luceco’s position in the market, signalling resilience, relevance and long-term ambition.
